タージ・マハル正門　赤砂岩　高さ約30mの堂々たる門。敷地は横303m、奥行560m。
16:50〜18:20見学　R250(入場料)+R500(ADA)=R750（ｲﾝﾄﾞ人はたったのR20、二重価格制)。廟内に入るために長蛇の列ができている。
建物のいたるところにみられるアーチは中央アジアのティムール朝の影響を受けたと聞く。
インド観光の目玉的存在で、年間400万人（うち外国人は20万人）の観光客が訪れる。
環境保護のため付近への車両の乗り入れが禁止されており、駐車場から入口までは歩くか電動自動車に乗り換えねばならない。また、保安上の理由で大きな荷物は入口で預ける必要がある。

The main gateway (darwaza) to the Taj Mahal　is a monumental structure built primarily of
marble which is reminiscent of Mughal architecture of earlier emperors.
A two tier pricing system is in place, with a significantly lower entrance fee for Indian citizens
and a more expensive one for foreigners.
Most tourists visit in the cooler months of October, November and February.
Polluting traffic is not allowed near the complex and tourists must either walk from parking lots or catch an electric bus.
